START WITH YOURSELF

When I was young and free and my imagination had no limits, I dreamed of changing the world. As I grew older and wiser, I discovered the world would not change, so I shortened my sights somewhat and decided to change only my country.

But, it too, seemed immovable.

As I grew into my twilight years, in one last desperate attempt, I settled for changing only my family, those closest to me, but alas, they would have none of it.

And now as I lie on my deathbed, I suddenly realize: If I had only changed my self first, then by example I would have changed my family.

From their inspiration and encouragement, I would then have been able to better my country and, who knows, I may have even changed the world.

The above words are said to be written on the tomb of an Anglican Bishop in the crypts of Westminster Abbey in London, England.

Sis,

MT (RPK) wrote something similar too (we are the revolution). Thanks for the reminder, Sis. I will keep it with me, always.

Hamba.
GOD bless us all.

Dear Nick

Thanks for alerting me re RPK's article...I think I missed reading that one.

I do not mean to sound patronising...but it just so happened that you mentioned it so I alerted you to this post...

I always remind myself that if I am not happy about something, I have to do something about it. It could be something simple like picking up rubbish at the beach or even something more complicated like effecting change in the political sphere via blogging...

Whatever it is, this is our country and we must try our best to make it a beautiful country and to be better persons in our own lives...

You are doing just that, Nick.

Thanks for being a real great Malaysian!
